Gatekeepers has gone through a major relooking, with some restructuring too.
So why has Gatekeepers gone from this:
… to this:
And this:
As some of you may know, Gatekeepers first started as a serialised novel, released by instalments to family and friends on a weekly or monthly basis.
When the time came to publish my work, I thought it simpler to release it as a complete volume. However, I increasingly felt something was not right. It took me some time to define what: by publishing the novel as a whole, it missed the original rhythm and anticipation created by the breaks between issues.
So, less than two years later, working with professionals, I decided to restructure my novel and regain some of the serial spirit. In literature, a serial is a single work published in separate parts, in sequential instalments. It was impossible to recreate my original email distribution, so I opted for a serialised novel delivered in three acts: Fogbound, Crisis and Power (Gatekeepers I, II, and III).
Now Gatekeepers is back a serialised novel and the first volume of The Fog Chronicles.
It is available in 3 instalments: Fogbound, Crisis and Power,
or as one novel: Gatekeepers Trilogy
The story is still the same, an exciting and extraordinary journey which all started with the appearance of the fog, but the format inside and outside has been revamped for an even more entertaining read.
GATEKEEPERS TRILOGY
‘Maybe it is a change in temperature or a rise in humidity,’ Yoko and her housemates think upon noticing the mysterious fog enshrouding their home that Sunday morning. However, this occurrence is not just an anomaly in the weather.
Yoko and the Gatekeepers extraordinary’s journey takes the reader on a thrilling adventure with unexpected characters, twists of history and quantum leaps.
On both sides of the fog, the friends face a whole new world.
On both sides, nothing is as it seems.
FOGBOUND (Gatekeepers I)
Crossing the mist, the four housemates find themselves transported to an unfamiliar and timeless forest. The search for explanations using our modern day oracle, the Internet, only leads to further questions and exposes their new secret to enigmatic strangers. The four friends embark on an adventure beyond their most surreal dreams, yet unaware that it places them at the epicentre of danger. With each day, the stakes get higher and the pace accelerates.
Fogbound is the first book of the Gatekeepers trilogy, unveiling the first two weeks of an extraordinary 7-week journey.
CRISIS (Gatekeepers II)
With the mysterious Fog opening a door to an uncharted new world, the four friends embark on a formidable journey, filled with enigmatic encounters and unscrupulous foes. Confronted daily by new challenges and revelations, Yoko and her friends struggle to maintain normality in their lives and minds as hidden secrets, other-worldly abilities and alternate realities come to light.
Crisis is the second book of the Gatekeepers trilogy’s extraordinary 7-week journey, exposing that the real danger behind the Fog is the humans in each world.
POWER (Gateekeepers III)
As two different worlds connect, the encounter brings opportunities and hope for the future, alongside fears and dangers on an individual and global level. The Gatekeepers unite to fight for what they believe in: it doesn’t mean the fight will be easy. Soon they understand that if they don’t want to lose the power game, they will have to make their own rules.
Power is the last book of the Gatekeepers trilogy, revealing how Yoko and her friends step up to their new responsibilities as Gatekeepers to another world.
Gatekeepers is available online in paperback and Kindle.
