GATEKEEPERS Trilogy
Contact

A fascinating story involving parallel universes that is not only original but also truly entertaining. Gatekeepers is an excellent book.

Lord West

‘Maybe it is a change in temperature or a rise in humidity,’ Yoko and her housemates think upon noticing the mysterious fog enshrouding their home that Sunday morning. However, this occurrence is not just an anomaly in the weather.

Yoko and the Gatekeepers extraordinary’s journey takes the reader on a thrilling adventure with unexpected characters, twists of history and quantum leaps.

On both sides of the fog, the friends face a whole new world.
On both sides, nothing is as it seems.

The Fog Chronicles is a collection of serialised novels about a modern and fast-paced adventure with the surrealist spice of speculative fiction. Set against a backdrop intertwining alternate reality with contemporary issues, The Fog Chronicles is also a captivating tale of friendship and self-discovery.

Out now in ebook and paperback formats.

“My name is Yoko.
This is my story. This is how it all started: what I have observed, heard and learned, in my own clumsy words.
One morning some time ago, my life turned upside down. Much has been written and said about what happened and much has been distorted. So, I wrote The Fog Chronicles, a first-hand account of the first weeks and months following the apparition of the mysterious Fog shrouding my home and the discovery of what lies beyond it. My life is an extraordinary adventure, which is also a constant source of stress, conundrum and anxiety. It is not easy being a Foggy…” (Yoko)

The style is punchy and funny. It makes for a great reading.

There is plenty of action and plots, the story is intriguing and the underlying issues thought-provoking. I agree with some of the previous reviews: the characters are one of the strengths of the story. They are real, everyday people, and I love how each reacts differently to the extraordinary of the situation.

Gatekeepers is a wonderfully imaginative story which will take you on a journey through time and around the globe. (...) Like CS Lewis’s Narnia or Philip Pullman’s Dark Materials novels, a portal opens into a parallel universe. Here we have the idea we yearn for, the opportunity to go back in time and reimagine our world. The tantalising question arises: could we intervene in history to make our world a better place? But this is no syrupy adventure, it is made clear that there are no happy endings. There will always be those who exploit, who are greedy for money and power, those who plunder the natural world without care for the consequences. But we all have the power to fight for what we believe in, no one ever said it would be easy. As Leila writes in an email to Yoko: “Life is meant to be unpredictable for us. Your life as you know it will never be the same … you will open new avenues in the lives of many. You have started something amazing.” Gatekeepers is a long story but one which will keep you reading right to the end. There is something in it for everyone.
